General Info

  • Electronic communication (email, text messaging, website updates) is our primary method of communicating scheduling, cancellations and other general information with players and their parents. The website calendar is regularly updated and it  is also enabled for importing into personal calendars.
  • The spring lacrosse season runs from early March to late May. Typically the teams practice 2-3 times per week and play games on Sunday.
  • Commitment:  We expect players to be at all practices and games.  Lacrosse is truly a skill sport that requires a lot of repetition.  If two practices per week are too much to commit to, please reconsider.  Parents must be more committed than players – your daughter will do what you direct them to do, and you are their transportation.
  • Generally speaking, games and practices will be held unless the field conditions are unsafe. Early season weather conditions can be unpredictable – please make sure your daughter is prepared and has layers to add or remove as needed. UnderArmour cold gear, both tops and bottoms, ($25-$30 per item) are excellent additions to any gear bag. Girls lax or field hockey gloves ($15 $25) are also a good idea for early season play. Many of the girls sticks have aluminum handles – they conduct the cold right onto the hands that are holding them.
  • The basic equipment needed to play girls lacrosse:
  1. Stick
  2. Wire Goggles
  3. Mouthpiece – must be colored, cannot be clear or white.
  4. Molded soccer-style cleats.
  • A typical youth stick / goggles / ball / mouthpiece equipment package will cost approximately $100. There are several intermediate level stick that are suitable, but try to avoid true “beginner” sticks – they actually prevent skill development more than enhance it.  The STX 4Sight goggle is the preferred eyewear. For lacrosse equipment, we recommend stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods located in the North Hanover Mall, 1155 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331 (717-632-9362), Lax World, located in The Shops at Kenilworth, Towson, MD (410-321-1552) or Longstreth. Play it Again Sports in Westminster, MD (410-871-1430) also usually has a good inventory of new equipment, as well as gently used equipment.
